Large Maple Bowl

This is another Broadway maple bowl. Somehow the soft flowing curves of the design invite you to pick it up and hold it.

I have learned that in design of turnings, it is best to avoid straight lines. You don't see them in nature and what we see in nature is familiar and comforting to us.

So, as much as possible I favor smooth flowing designs and feel complimented when people want to pick up and hold my bowls when I exhibit at craft and art shows.
