Small Butternut Hollow Vessel

This small Butternut hollow turning measures 5.5 inches in width and 3.25 inches i height. Over the years I have tried to discipline myself to let the wood tell me what it wants to be rather than the other way around. So, whatever piece of wood I have I try to get the best object from that piece that I can. There are seldom vessels I turn that are identical in design and of course the wood in every piece is different. I love the rich, warm tones of the Butternut browns and tans. You can see why this has been a wood favored by woodworkers for centuries.
