Spalted Norfolk Island Pine Hollow Turning

This pine species is native to an island in the Pacific but has been planted widely in the US and now has become an invasive species. I was taken by the linear spalting in this piece.

At first I was going to discard it as I had already used the lower portion which has the regular array of knots from branches that all come out at the same level up and down the trunk. However the spalting was so symmetrical on this piece that I felt it had its own merits. It is 5 1/2 X 4 1/2 inches and is $98 plus shipping.
