Pecan and Makore Wood Cutting Board

This is another example of a laminated cutting board. My father planted the pecan when I was in medical school. Unfortunately the top died and this sprout came up from below the graft so it did not have good quality pecan nuts on it.

When my father died, I cut it down and sawed up the trunk and moved it with me back and forth across the country in the nomadic period of my life.

It took me many years to make this finished product and I think of my father every time I see it.
