Detail: Underside Of Cutting Board

When you have a flat plank of laminated wood one foot by 18 inches, which is about five eight's of an inch thick, how do you pick it up with wet hands in the kitchen?

To solve this I cut small indentations on the ends with a gouge so the fingers can get a grip on something other than the straight side of the board.
