Birds Eye Maple French Rolling Pin

Believe it or not, I fished this wood out of a dumpster. In Kentucky I had a shop next to that of a man who worked with birds eye maple. These were his scraps that he discarded and it was my good fortune to find.

I had a woodworker in West Virginia tell me that he did not make "little things" when I asked him for some beautiful tiger maple cut off scraps.

Well, I make big things but I also make little things. Wood that beautiful is just too precious to waste, even a scrap of it.
